Jeffrey L. Gordon
Managing Partner
Mr. Gordon’s career began at the Old Colony Trust Division of the First National Bank of Boston. He later joined White, Weld & Co. where he managed individual and endowment portfolios. He and his partner, John J. Slocum, Jr., formed Slocum, Gordon & Co. LLP in 1978, and with 50 years of investment management experience Mr. Gordon now serves as portfolio manager and managing partner. He is a trustee emeritus of The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts where he has been a board member for 26 years, including a sixteen-year term as treasurer and most recently president from 2006-2014. He is the president of the Board of Directors of the Trinity Landmark Preservation Fund and has been a past treasurer of Trinity Church in Newport. As a trustee emeritus of St. Michael’s Country Day School, Mr. Gordon also served a ten year term as president of its Board of Trustees.

Barclay Douglas, Jr.
Partner
Mr. Douglas began his career in Boston with ABD Securities Corporation in the operations and administration department, with a move to the Rhode Island firm of Barclay Douglas & Co. in Providence, where he was responsible for the operations and securities processing departments. Mr. Douglas joined Slocum, Gordon & Co. LLP as a partner in 1979 and with 50 years of experience in the securities business is currently responsible for the Firm’s securities processing, computer operations, and internal audit departments. He has been president of Newport Country Club for over 30 years and is on the USGA’s Northeast Region Committee. He is a past secretary of The National Tennis Club. Mr. Douglas also served as an Incorporator of BankNewport.

Kenneth M.P. Lindh
Partner
Mr. Lindh’s business experience started in the oil and gas industry negotiating lease contracts as well as managing ranching interests in the north Texas area. During and after law school, he spent time with the Dallas law firm Glast, Phillips & Murray in their litigation and trust and estate departments. Mr. Lindh joined Slocum, Gordon & Co. LLP in 2000, and with his background as a fiduciary has expanded the Firm’s trust and estate work for its clients. He is currently the Firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Mr. Lindh is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association.

Michael P. Moeller
Portfolio Manager and Analyst
Mr. Moeller had previous positions in New York and Boston at Clearwater Analytics, UBS Investment Bank, and Amundi Pioneer Asset Management. His range of experience in investment management, capital market risk assessment, and fixed income analysis complements our portfolio oversight responsibilities for our diverse family of clients. Mr. Moeller hails from a distinguished Air Force family and has lived in many areas of the country in his early years.

Candice S. Medeiros, IACCP®
Compliance Officer
Mrs. Medeiros joined the firm in 2004 in the capacity of receptionist and executive secretary. She had previously been employed in banking, and with experience in the financial industry, she quickly rose in responsibility at SG & Co. to the extent that she became the face of the firm, known to all our clients, and is fluent in virtually all aspects of our business. Mrs. Medeiros achieved the important designation of Investment Advisor Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP) which role she serves for the firm along with Mr. Lindh. Additionally, she has developed expertise with the firm’s work for our clients in financial planning programming.

Kristin M. Wood
Operations Manager
Ms. Wood joined the firm in 2022. Her career path had previously taken her to the West Indies Management Company where her expertise in creative design reached into all aspects of the extensive marketing and communications aspects of the business. On joining SG & Co., Ms. Wood transferred her expertise to the firm’s mission critical information technology and client services work.

John J. Slocum, Jr., Co-Founder Emeritus
IN MEMORIAM (1941-2017)
Mr. Slocum formed Slocum, Gordon, & Co. LLP with Jeffrey Gordon in 1978 and retired from the partnership in May 2016. He began his career in the corporate finance division of S.G. Warburg & Co. in New York. With a subsequent position at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in the New York corporate banking group, he specialized in lending, credit analysis, and investment banking with multinational corporate clients. After moving to Rhode Island, Mr. Slocum joined the investment firm of Miller & George where he managed individual clients’ portfolios. Mr. Slocum was a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and Groton School.
